HEAT-INSULATING REFRACTORY FELT
Heat-insulating refractory felt is made of a mullite-siliceous fiber, produced by melting of pure aluminum and silicon oxides in electric furnace with fiber formation by the blowing method. An inorganic binding agent is added to fibers to impart strength and elasticity to the material.
Zirconium or chrome oxides are introduced into fiber composition to increase the batting application temperature.
Roll felt is a flexible and elastic heat-insulating and electrical insulating material. It can be cut with a knife and cut out to the required shapes, fastened to a rigid substrate with inorganic glues or fixed mechanically.
The material is strengthened by thermal treatment at temperature above 400 °c.
